Worship Arts Director

The Part-Time Worship Arts Director at Great Bay Anglican Church will uphold and develop Great Bay Anglican Church’s devotion to the true, the good, and the beautiful in worship. This primarily constitutes leading and developing the music ministry to foster a worshipful environment that reflects our Anglican liturgical tradition and engages the congregation in meaningful worship. The Worship Arts Director will also think creatively about how to incorporate art into the life of the church as an aid to worship and a means through which Great Bay Anglican Church can further glorify God. This role involves planning, coordinating, and leading music for weekly Sunday services and other church services as needed, and assisting the staff with special arts-related events outside the daily life of the church.

Employment Status: Part-Time (10 Hours Per Week)

Compensation: $1000/month

​

Primary Responsibilities

Worship Leadership

  • Plan and lead the musical elements of Sunday worship services, integrating Anglican liturgical tradition with musical excellence.

  • Think theologically about and select hymns, psalms, and songs that align with each week’s Scripture readings and the Anglican liturgical calendar.

  • Lead congregational singing and coordinate instrumental and vocal accompaniments.

Worship Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians and singers who share the church’s vision for worship.

  • Foster community and spiritual growth among team members, encouraging their musical and spiritual development.

Special Services

and Events

  • Provide music leadership for additional services such as Advent, Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and Easter.

  • Assist the Vicar and Director of Operations with the development and planning of special events, as needed.

Administration

  • Organize and schedule musicians and vocalists for Sunday worship and special services using tools Breeze Church Management System.

  • Prepare weekly service presentations, including music, readings, announcements, etc.

  • Maintain music resources  and equipment in good order.

Qualifications

  • A vibrant and mature faith in Jesus Christ, with a commitment to the mission and values of Great Bay Anglican Church.

  • Proficiency in leading congregational singing vocally and instrumentally (e.g., piano or guitar); familiarity with Anglican liturgical tradition is a plus.

  • Ability to read music, arrange songs, and work with both traditional hymnody and modern worship styles.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Previous experience leading worship or in a music ministry role is preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Lead Sunday afternoon worship services and participate in worship planning meetings.

  • Coordinate music and musicians for each Sunday

  • Plan weekly rehearsals with the music team (schedule flexible).

  • Prepare and practice music during the week as needed.
